What is Manifest Love?
A movement. Just starting. Some 3,200 of us so far, some in local
teams around the country. We are men of all types, who share some key
beliefs. Think of it as an army
of lovers working to build a whole new vision of gay male world. We
think it's time we gave ourselves the lives we truly want. Our motto
is gay men finding new ways to be with and for each other. That's what
we do.
We
educate, support and inspire gay men to seek new ways of being with
and for each other. We encourage gay men to understand and embody the
best, most powerful and transformative values we bring to culture: non-violence,
the brotherhood of deep friendship, sexual celebration, service and
nurturance, new forms of intimacy with women, and pursuit of diverse
forms of ecstatic union. We believe that different kinds of queer men,
working together, can shape a more loving, affectionate, and affirming
world, for ourselves and others.
That's our mission.
What's yours?
What we are not:
- a cult
- 12-step or support
group
- a private club
- a church
- one of those nasty
right-wing ex-gay "salvation" or "reparative" frauds
- a new-age marketing
ploy
- a sex or dating
service
However, things happen
Management cannot
be held even slightly responsible if you should join in and get:
- inspired

- enlightened
- laid
- less cynical
- new friends
- new hope
- some new ideas
- a really great
boyfriend
- blown away by
the beauty of it all
- all of the above
We have no obligatory
dues, loyalty oaths, secret handshakes, decoder rings or tote bags.
(well, OK, we might talk about the rings)
We DON'T call you
at home over dinner to ask for money. We DO gratefully accept donations
(when we get our non-profit status, you can take it off your taxes and
finally get Uncle Sam to pay for a new gay world).
OK, so what does Manifest Love actually DO?
This work grows person
to person by gay men who want new ways to be with -- and for -- each
other. Our work takes many forms. Some activities
so far...
Is there a local team near me?
Could be, Tiger. Local teams form
where guys express interest and do the work. Check 'em out here.
Is this some spiritual thing?
It depends on how
you see it. Some men relate to this as spiritual, others simply want
to belong to a more friendly and loving gay world. We even hear a couple
guys just joined to meet somebody cute. No matter where you fit, one
thing's clear: it's about the values, ethics, and practices in gay men's
lives right now. If spirituality and values
interest you especially, read this.
Are you guys for real?
Judge for yourself. Read what participants
say about us. Check out our mission
statement.
