For men interested to carry on this work beyond weekend gatherings, ongoing local Team offer a chance to discuss, scheme, play, and socialize with like-hearted men. Their programs help turn ideas into action, offering a chance for men to promote critical understanding of our cultural innovations and find ways to manifest loving values in their local communities. ML teams (OK... gaggles?) plan "loving disturbances" in their communities to foster creative forms of beloved community, and help men reflect, experience and practice values in new ways.

A team sport...

Local ML teams devise lots of creative loving disturbances:

• Volunteer teams to welcome newcomers to a gay neighborhood. (San Francisco)

• Impromptu massage cooperative to offer affectionate, non sexual touch at no cost. (Boulder, Atlanta)

• Saturday night affection insurrection to assist a local bar culture to be more friendly, open, & welcoming.(Providence, New York, San Francisco)

• Practicing more welcoming and open eye contact among men in gay space, to subvert attitude and extend sexual opportunity into friendliness. (Castro)

• Explore novel, more affirming rituals for tricks, dates, and relationships. (SF)

• Create and use a new social greeting to better capture what we are to each other than your Dad's handshake or the diva air-kiss. Spread it around like mad.(Providence/Boston)

• "Cookie zap" to offer moments of pleasure that embody values of taking care of each other. (New York)

• Cooperative dining events where meals are shared so guys don't have to eat dinner alone (San Francisco)

• Salons to discuss and celebrate distinctive strengths of queer men's cultures. (Boston)

•Drinks-with-dames events when guys take their best female friend out to celebrate, thank, and honor your bond. (Chicago, Atlanta)

• Public events creating new ways to caretake each other, like the sidewalk massage line. (Sounds silly, feels great)

• Guerilla theater Funeral for a Bitchy Queen, to provoke exploration of more fulfilling archetypal models.

• Grassroots media sticker blitzes to promote affectionate, pro-sexual, nurturing brotherhood and challenge community cynicism. (Here, there, and everywhere)
